Smokey Mts. Hike

Some (cell) pictures along the way on our hike through the Smokey Mts.

Top is Deb trying to lever a huge piece of quartz out of the mountain as Omar and Zach forge the trail in the background.

Bottom is a waterfall we came upon. Zach in the red at center right and Omar in white. This was quite a spectacular falls.

We are now resting in the hotel room as to prepare ourselves for tonight's dinner.

Hurricane Trivia

I'm looking at this map of the routes of the major hurricanes to hit Florida since 1851 and it appears to me that a vast number of paths intersect right over Magic Kingdom. If this map is any indication of future paths, Disney may want to fortify that big EPCOT ball-thing with some 'crete'. Below is a list of Atlantic storm names. They are in French, English or Spanish for the areas that Atlantic storms hit these are the languages spoken. (someday the names will probably only be Spanish/French as there will be no English speaking peoples in the Atlantic areas)

Day 2 in NJ

Yonkers' Empire City Racetrack and Casino above and Deb's College campus below.
Rockland Community College is right across the NY border about half an hour from
Deb's house. It is in a beautiful area. Her building is the white one on right. It is a SUNY campus being part of the State University of NY.

Bouabidis in Orlando

I thought the Bouabidis were in Orlando but guess they went somewhere into the future for these shots.

July 4th on the Mississippi

If we hadn't spotted this riverboat casino on the Mississippi River in Dubuque, we would have made it to the fireworks in Galena... Bottom picture is from the top of the alpine slide at a ski lodge outside of Galena looking at the Mississippi River just before sunset.
Flooding didn't occur this far north this year. The view was beautiful but the crowds were large so we opted out of the parade watching to find a place to eat: "Fried Green Tomatoes"
and opted out of the fireworks to go back to Dubuque to gamble at the Diamond Jo Riverboat and Grand Harbor Resort and Casino...crowds weren't so large there-neither were our winnings...
