Chia Obama Pulled from Shelves

Although Walgreen's has pulled the Chia Obama from its shelves citing 'racism,' the question is "Can we still buy one?" The answer:
Yes we can!
and buy one of two poses 'happy Obama' or 'stern Obama' or get them both.
Or better yet...buy one and masking tape over the name 'Billy Crystal' cause doesn't it look more like him than Obama?
I might wait for the Chia Hillary.

Obobblehead Shortage

Send all Obobbleheads to:
103 E Ave
Grundy Center, IA 50638
Please no C.O.D.s... she's on a fixed income.
Bobblehead pictured is a pretty good likeness but I have no idea who sells it. Here is another one:

Obama Action Figures

The Japanese have bestowed Obama a Ninja...quite an honor, I think. These action figure dolls are hitting the market (or at least the internet) by Japan's Gamu-toys. I thing the American versions will be 'Obama on the Blackberry' and 'Obama plays basketball.' What else will the Japanese think of?

Food Tasters for Obama

When Teddy had his 'spell' at the inaugural luncheon, I first thought, "oh no, he's been poisoned! Those terrorists have caught us off guard again...all of our politicians are going to die." I don't know if that's a bad thing but I keep thinking that some redneck skin head is going to take out our new President and that the least we should do is hire a
Food Taster for Obama.
So, I did an internet search and can you believe we have a whole group of individuals who have already volunteered and it is right on the Obama website. Check this out:
Food Tasters for Obama is open to supporters of all dietary persuasions, including kosher and halal, veggie and vegan, gluten- or peanut-free, and any other kind of food allergy. We even welcome lactose intolerant soy latte drinkers.

Lizard People Run for Senate

This is one of those hotly challenged ballots up in Minnesota in the Senate race between Norm Coleman and Al Franken. You can see why the confusion...this voter seems to want both Al Franken and the 'Lizard People' for US Senator. I am surprised in a state with 10,000 lakes, you have to write in a 'Lizard Person.' Of course, maybe Al Franken IS a 'Lizard Person.' More questionable ballots (but not as exciting) at this website:

Obama is a Reincarnate?

SAN FRANCISCO-based Dr Walter Semkiw, a practising physician, claims that Barack Obama is the reincarnation of Lyman Trumbull, an Illinois Democratic senator and the principal author of the Thirteenth Amendment, which put an end to slavery in US. About his research on Trumbull, Semkiw says that he found many similarities between him and Obama. After finishing law school, Trumbull moved to Illinois in the 1830s, where he set up a practice. He represented African-American slaves many times against slave-owners. In addition, says Semkiw, Trumbull was a great orator - one who could move people with his words, a quality that Obama also possesses. "If we accept the case of Trumbull having reincarnated as Obama, it also sends out an important message that individuals can change race from one incarnation to another," says Semkiw. "Imagine how much more peaceful the world would be if we all realised that identification with one’s particular race, nationality, sect or religion is just a temporary one and that it can change from lifetime to lifetime.” Below is a picture of Trumbull.

I thought maybe they'd at least have the same ears...It is said that you live with the same group of spirits lifetime after lifetime you just switch roles. For instance, your father in this life might have been a friend or your child in a previous life. With this in mind, which FOX channel commentator do you think John Wilkes Booth is now?

UFOs, the President, and a new Advisor

Not all presidents are briefed equally on the UFO issue. Carter, Bush Sr. and Reagan are listed as being the most informed. Clinton was rumored to have said "I know it's real…they won't tell me a damn thing." I don't know about W but the head of Obama's transition team, John Podesta, went public in 2002, calling for the government to end UFO secrecy. More about these statements at: http://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2008/11/16.html#recap

As for Obama's personal interest, I think he has his hands full here on Earth as illustrated during a debate when Tim Russert asked Sen. Obama about his belief in the existence of life beyond Earth:
"I don't presume to know. What I know is there is life here on Earth, and — and that we're not attending to life here on Earth."

If the time comes, however, that Obama needs a UFO advisor and taking into account his "team of rivals" approach, I have a suggestion he start vetting Dennis Kucinich who

according to (Shirley) MacLaine, saw a UFO in the 1980s while visiting the actress at her home in Washington state.

I didn't know Dennis hung out with Shirley but I do know he received the Gandhi Peace Award-2002 and what other qualifications do you need to meet E.T.s?

Unless living with one counts...

Where Will All the Yardsigns Go?

Mom informed me that it was a Federal Offense to leave a campaign yardsign up more than seven days after an election.
Can anyone verify this before I turn in the neighbors...I don't want to look like a fool.
I didn't want to take any chances--I don't need the Feds knocking on my front door--I took mine down.
I have a grandmother who will probably be braiding used yardsigns into dark blue shiny rugs, knitting shiny handbags and shiny vests fearing another depression. Me, on the other hand, might need to use them around the windows to tame down the drafts(not in the house...in my pickup).
Although my neighbors' HUGE Hillary sign worked as a good snow fence last winter, I heard the small plastic signs take 500 years to decompose (if Gore would have ran, his signs would have had multiple uses following the election).

Who's Haunting the White House

I found this book on White House Hauntings on http://www.ghostvillage.com/. Seems like Abe, Abigail Adams, Andrew Jackson and even the Lincoln children haunt the White House.

Apparently, some of the presidents and their family members who have lived in the White House over the years have enjoyed their experience so much that they're hard-pressed to leave. According to some very reliable - and, in some cases, quite notable - witnesses, a number of them still reside in the presidential abode, and appear to have no intention of leaving.
Kind of like Bill and Hillary...
Also found on the ghostvillage.com website is this tale:

Line of Succession

I was actually trying to find some info on what would happen if John McCain would die before the general election (would Hucklebee be the candidate or Palin). Found this first and thought interesting. From www.mentalfloss.com:

If something were to happen to the President today…
The current line of succession is:
The Vice President - Dick Cheney
Speaker of the House - Nancy Pelosi
President pro tempore of the Senate - Robert Byrd
Secretary of State - Condoleezza Rice
Secretary of the Treasury - Henry Paulson
Secretary of Defense - Robert Gates
Attorney General - Michael Mukasey
Secretary of the Interior - Dirk Kempthorne
Secretary of Agriculture - Edward T. Schafer
Secretary of Commerce - Carlos Gutierrez
Secretary of Labor - Elaine Chao
Secretary of Health and Human Services - Mike Leavitt
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development - Steven C. Preston
Secretary of Transportation - Mary E. Peters
Secretary of Energy - Samuel Bodman
Secretary of Education - Margaret Spellings
Secretary of Veterans Affairs - James Peake
Secretary of Homeland Security - Michael Chertoff

The government is just very careful about keeping everyone in the line from being in the same place at the same time. For events that all persons in the line usually attend – the State of the Union address, joint sessions of Congress, presidential inaugurations – one member of the cabinet eligible for the presidency is selected as the designated survivor and hidden in an undisclosed location for the duration of the event. In case disaster strikes, the designated survivor will be able to take charge.

Succession law also doesn’t provide any direction for a situation where a former president ineligible to serve another term is in the line of succession (if they don’t close that loophole, it’s a great way for Slick Willy to sneak back into office).

Second Lady Occupations

I found an interesting tidbit of information tonight. This website listed some of the occupations of Vice Presidents' wives before becoming Second Ladies. The writer of this column is an alumni of Iowa State.
9. I have to mention Ilo Brown Wallace, the 33rd Second Lady of the U.S., because she was from Iowa – Indianola, to be exact. Before she was living large in Washington, she was the co-founder of Hi-Bred Corn Company in 1926. She and her husband used money she had inherited from her parents to start it. It’s now Pioneer Hi-Bred International, the world’s second-largest seed company.
I believe my first paycheck came from Pioneer.
Nothing like detasseling mile long corn rows...

Clintons at the Convention

One of my favorite people of commentary is Jack Cafferty of CNN.

Jack Cafferty is the author of the best-seller "It's Getting Ugly Out There: The Frauds, Bunglers, Liars, and Losers Who Are Hurting America." He provides commentary on CNN's "The Situation Room" daily from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. You can also visit Jack's Cafferty File blog.

I found this commentary to be humorous and realistic. Bill's making a fool out of himself and wants to talk more about himself then his Party. The Hillary people have always made me gag.

Some of Hillary Clinton's supporters had threatened to disrupt the proceedings if their candidate wasn't shown the proper amount of respect. They're called PUMAs, an acronym for "Party Unity My Ass." They appear to be a humorless lot who cannot come to terms with the fact that the country didn't want Hillary Clinton to be president. So they have been throwing a hissy fit ever since the primaries ended. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton owes some big bucks, as in tens of millions of dollars. So if you're at the convention this week and you see her out in front of the hall selling pencils, buy one. She needs the money.

Tonight and tomorrow nights Clinton speeches should be interesting...hopefully, the PUMAs aren't in Denver. Cafferty's full commentary (and it's funny) can be found at:

Democratic Convention Conspiracy

Hot off the conspiracy press...Note the similarity of the logos of the Obama campaign (above) and Pepsi (below). It is being said that Pepsi not only runs the Obama campaign itself but is also in charge of the entire Democratic Party...is it any coincidence that the Dem. National Convention is at the Pepsi Center in Denver??? I'm waiting for the Obama slogan to change to "the choice of a New Generation."

Electoral Votes (EV) Gadget

Well, the political season nears and the Kells must stay up-to-date. Replacing the Olympic Medals Tracker is a new little device that I just found on a legitimate website. The numbers below represent today's EV per category and may possibly change as 'exactly tied' states untie. So, forget the polls that you see coming out daily for remember the election for President is done on EV basis and not popular vote.
270 votes needed to win.
Legend for the electoral votes gadget:

Strong Dem (134) solid dark blue
Weak Dem (121) solid light blue
Barely Dem (9) outlined in blue
Exactly tied (22) white
Barely GOP (76) outlined in red
Weak GOP (55) solid light red
Strong GOP (121) solid dark red

The gadget also shows House and Senate numbers.
